For the week of Dec. 30-Jan. 5, the Union City Fire Department had a total of 31 alarms, including 17 medical calls, two commercial alarms, three fires, two motor vehicle accidents, three rural calls and four smoke investigations. There were 109 alarms during December and the Union City Fire Department ended the calendar year with 1,261 alarms.
