A Fulton man was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with multiple counts of sexual assault.
William Derek Patterson, 44, of 303 West St., North Apartment, Fulton, was arrested after Fulton police officers executed search and arrest warrants at his home, according to a press release from the Fulton Police Department.
During the initial service of the search warrant, Patterson arrived at his home and was placed under arrest. He was served with a warrant issued from Fulton County (Ky.) District Court for 11 counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of first-offense distribution of obscene matter to a minor.
Fulton police reported that the warrants were based on two juveniles’ filing of complaints against Patterson. After receiving the complaints, investigators gathered enough information to obtain warrants for Patterson’s arrest.
After serving the warrants, officers searched Patterson’s home and removed several items of evidence.
Patterson was processed at the Fulton Police Department and temporarily lodged at its holding facility. He was later transferred to the Fulton County Detention Center, where he is currently being held.
Investigators are gathering additional information in the case and expect additional charges to be filed, according to Fulton Police Department public information officer Capt. Jere Hughes. Anyone who has knowledge or additional information about the case is asked to contact the Fulton Police Department at (270) 472-3141 or their local law enforcement agency.
