The Messenger congratulates Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. “Trey” Wood III of Union City on the birth of a son, Robert W. “Cohen” Wood IV, at 2:59 p.m. Dec. 22, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. He weighed 6 pounds, 3 1/2 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert “Robin” Wood Jr. of Union City and Mr. and Mrs. Gary G. Roberts of McEwen. His great-grandparents are the late Ann Roberts Hanley and the late Arthur Brooks Roberts, both of Knoxville, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lee Metcalf of Shingle Springs, Calif., the late William Henry Spaulding of Reno, Nev., Robert W. Wood Sr. and the late Ann Elisabeth “Betty” (Burdick) Wood of Union City, the late Mary Catherine Binford Campbell of Frankston, Texas, and the late Frank Asbury Binford of Brownsville. His mother is the former Jennifer Rose Roberts of McEwen.
