Lona Jane Buress
Lona Jane Buress, 96, of Alamo, formerly of Como, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Crockett County Nursing Home in Alamo.
Services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden, with Bro. Bobby Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery in Como.
Joe Wilbanks, Buddy Wilbanks, Danny Burress, Dicky Burress, Dustin Wilbanks and Jeff Hooper served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Buress was born Feb. 5, 1911, in Decatur County, daughter of the late John and Cassey Cole Spence. She was a homemaker and a member of Como Church of Christ. She was the widow of Novell Wilbanks and K. W. Buress.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Hilliard of Alamo and Mary Sue Staggs of Bogota; four sons, Joe Wilbanks of Como, Buddy Wilbanks of Crockett Mills, Danny Buress of Dyersburg and Dicky Buress of Tiptonville; one sister, Fronia Allison of Milledgeville; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
