Henry County students to perform free concert Many of Henry County’s best student musicians will perform a free concert on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Weston Hall at Grove High School in Paris. The All District Band Festival Concert will feature 60 eighth-grade students from both the city and county school system, along with the Henry County High School Madrigals. The festival involves students and band directors from Harrelson, Henry, Inman and Lakewood schools who participate in an all-day practice session before performing that night for the public. This is a great opportunity for all of the students to learn from each other and meet other music students from around the county, while giving them a taste of the music program that awaits them at the high school level, a spokesman said. Opening the concert will be the Henry County High School Madrigals. This year, for the first time, the Madrigals will be performing for the national convention of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) in Milwaukee, Wis. They will perform for thousands of music educators from across the country and even from across the world. They are especially proud to be the only performing ensemble from the state of Tennessee invited to the national convention. Published in The Messenger 1.9.08 , |
