LR ends reg. season
with split at Trenton

Macy Wright totaled 14 points and seven rebounds to propel Lake Road to a 49-29 triumph over Trenton Monday night.
Twin sisters Whittney and Brittney Dodd had nine points each with Kristen Story adding six markers and five rebounds for the Lady Generals (6-7).
In the nightcap, Lake Road came up short in a comeback bid during a 46-44 loss.
The Generals (4-9) had trailed 35-27 at the end of three quarters.
Parker McMin paced LR with 18 points and six caroms with Shaw Logan contributing 10 markers and five assists.
The Lady Generals return to action against Black Oak Thursday at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the Obion County School System’s postseason tournament while their male equals face South Fulton Saturday night at 6.

Martin again has
SF girls’ number

Martin had the number of the South Fulton girls again Monday night.
The Lady Panthers, the only team that has blemished SF’s 13-2 record, were on the top side of a 42-36 final.
In the nightcap, MMS completed the sweep with a 30-22 triumph over the Red Devils.
Free throw woes haunted SF’s girls with the locals hitting on just 9-of-21 from the charity stripe.
Taleeah Cross accumulated a 13-point and seven-rebound effort for South Fulton with Marina Barclay tossing in seven in the loss.
In the nightcap, Montre and Khiry Lewis topped out for the SF boys (9-6) with six points apiece.
Both SF squads next play Saturday in the semifinals of the Obion County School System’s postseason tournament Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils take on Lake Road at 4:30 with their female counterparts facing the winner of a Thursday Lake Road/Black Oak game at 6.

Dyersburg sweeps
UC jayvee squads

Union City dropped a pair of double-digit decisions to Dyersburg in jayvee basketball action Monday night.
UC’s girls were drubbed 36-11, while the boys fell 33-23 to the Trojans.
In the opener, the Lady Twisters (4-9, 4-7 West Tennessee Athletic Conference) were paced by Jackie Hudson with eight points and 11 rebounds.
For the UC boys (4-9), Shyheim Slayton accounted for nearly one-third of his team’s points with 10 markers.
Keylon Hyde brought down 11 rebounds and had seven steals in the defeat.
Union City returns to the hardwood Thursday at Lake County. Tipoff for the girls’ game is set for 6 p.m.

Milan squeaks past
Union City frosh

Union City’s freshman boys let loose of a nine-point halftime during a 60-58 loss to Milan Monday night.
Tyler Steward-Crume was the Twisters’ top performer with 18 in the loss. Grant Victory added 13 and Antonio Cox chipped in 10 during the defeat.
UC’s frosh boys (6-4) return to action Thursday at Westview.

Hudson’s 27 leads
UTM to slim victory

NASHVILLE (AP) — Lester Hudson, the nation’s second leading scorer, scored 27 points including two free throws with one second left to lead UT Martin to a 75-74 win Monday over Tennessee State.
Union City native Marquis Weddle had 12 points.
, and Sam Pearson and Djero Riedewald added 10 points each for the Skyhawks (7-9, 3-3 Ohio Valley Conference).
