Completed arrangements are being announced for Robert Edward “Bob” Powell, 77, of Hickman, Ky., who died 3:30 p.m. Jan. 3, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services were set for 11 a.m. today at West Baptist Church in Hickman, with the Revs. Henry Callison and Jason Sipes officiating. Burial was to follow at Hickman City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be Larry Parks, Michael Cole, Larry Langford, Jim Hudson, Mike Taylor, Jim Adams, Bill Garrett, David Lattus, Tim Langford and Don Livingston. Honorary pallbearers were to be Bobby Anderson, Wilford Denton, Billy Garrigan, Richard Wilkerson, Vercel Bryant, Larry Gray, Charles D. King, Jimmy Cooley, James Roberts, Myrna Parks, Susan Taylor, Linda Eakes, JoAnn Hardin, Christy Cole, Karen Langford, Phyllis Simmons and Tommy Hunter.

Strong Funeral Home in Hickman was in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 8, 1930, in Providence, R.I., son of the late Edward E. and Thelma B. (Vickery) Powell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was the retired plant manager of the former Sigri Carbon Corp. in Hickman. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at West Baptist Church in Hickman and was a member of the board of trustees for Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Ky. He was also a member of the board of directors of Farmers Bank in Woodland Mills and was a Gideon.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Cagle Powell; his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Tiffany Powell of Indianapolis; two daughters and his son-in-law, Rosemary and Dr. Ed Reese of Union City and Diana Powell of Bellingham, Wash., formerly of Union City; his sister, Arlene Blackwell of Huntsville, Ala.; and nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wilkinson and Barbara Myers.
