Dorothy (McMurry) Terrett, 94, of Hickman, Ky., died 2:43 p.m. Jan. 1, 2008, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hickman First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold Stricker officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 6-8 this evening and on Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services.
Strong Funeral Home in Hickman is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Mike Major, Joe Sanger, Lynn Major, Doug Voorhees, Dan Rice and Jim Major.
She was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Fulton County, Ky., daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Roberts) McMurry.
She was the widow of George Benton Terrett and was a retired teacher in the Fulton County School System. She had been a member of Hickman First United Methodist Church since 1945 and was also a member of Fulton County Retired Teachers Association and the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include four sons, Joe Terrett of Woodland Mills and George Terrett, Charles Terrett and Ben Terrett, all of Hickman; three daughters, Martha Sue Stalions of Smithland, Ky., and Julia Davis and Betty Lou Abernathy, both of Hickman; and 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
