Luncheon to continue
The semimonthly Total Invol-vement luncheon will be Jan. 10 at noon at the Obion Community Center. The public is invited to attend for a time of good eating and fellowship, said a spokesman, who expressed appreciation for the two years of commitment expressed for the program. The Total Involvement luncheon is a service of the Ladies Ministry at New Faith Church in Obion.

Ramsey’s program set
Financial Peace University will be offered in a 13-week program taught by syndicated radio host Dave Ramsey beginning Jan. 13 at 4 p.m. at Union City’s Calvary Baptist Church at 2250 East Reelfoot Ave. The life-changing program teaches families and individuals how to handle their money through common-sense principles and small group accountability.
Class participants will need to purchase kits which are available online at www.daveramsey.com or by calling 1-888-227-3223. The kit includes an FPU workbook, an FPU envelope system, 13 audio lessons, a bonus CD, budgeting forms, debit card holders and Ramsey’s best-selling book, “Financial Peace.”
Ramsey is a personal money management expert who has lived a true riches to rags to riches story. After building a $4 million real estate portfolio by the age of 26, he lost it all by age 30. He has since rebuilt his financial life and now devotes himself full-time to helping ordinary people understand the forces behind their financial distress and how to set things right — financially, emotionally and spiritually.
After each of the 13 lessons, group members meet to help each other plan budgets, discuss successes and temptations and support each other in their journeys to beat debt and build wealth.
