Vernon Gerald Stork, 64, of Dyersburg died Jan. 1, 2008, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was the father of Garrett Stork of Obion.
Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Dyersburg, with the Rev. James Branscum officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Stork, Garrett Stork, Lawrence Stork, Joe Stork, Tommy Stork, John Stork and Max Hayes.
Friends may call at the church Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of services.
Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
He was born in Sparta, Ill., July 1, 1943, son of the late Ralph E. and Mary (Tilton) Stork. He was employed by Quebecor in Covington as a press room technician and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is also survived by his wife, Mary Ruth (Throop) Stork; another son, Shawn Stork of Dyersburg; four brothers, Lawrence Stork of Steelville, Ill., John Stork of Collinsville, Ill., Joe Stork of Oakdale, Ill., and Tommy Stork of Coulterville, Ill.; four sisters, Mary B. Dunlap and Loretta Stork, both of Granite City, Ill., Judy Hanna of Sparta, Ill., and Rose Jane Tutor of Corning, Ark.; and four grandchildren, Kyle Stork and Parker Wyatt, both of Dyersburg, and James Travis Stork and Cole Stork, both of Obion.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Stork; and his brother, Ralph G. Stork.
