Completed arrangements are being announced for Juanita (Gardner) Hemphill, 80, of Union City, who died Jan. 1, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Paul Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Obion.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-7 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Ray Burden, Eugene Hudgins, Bobby Wayne Williams, Roger Alexander, Polk Glover, Sammy Snead, Dr. Rob Jordan, Aaron Boone and Billy Crigger.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering at Union City First Baptist Church.
She was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Dyer County, daughter of the late Reps and Mattie (York) Gardner. She married Ray Lafette Hemphill May 6, 1945. He died Sept. 25, 2005. She was a retired employee of the former Salant & Salant in Obion, where she was a quality control inspector. She was a member of Union City First Baptist Church, attending the Lael Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hemphill was a former member of Obion First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Paul Berry of Union City; her grandson and his wife, Jonathan and Rachel Berry of Union City; her great-granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Berry of Union City; two sisters, Verna Turner of Union City and Oletha Gilbert of Indiana; her brother, Hillard Gardner of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Gardner.
