Completed arrangements are being announced for Betty Jo (Long) Lewis, 70, of Troy, who died 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31, 2007, at Regional Hospital in Jackson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Dilday Funeral Home in Union City, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Higgins, Kent Treece, Mike Jones, Jamie Long, Bobby Brown, David Stockdale and Randy Farley.
She was born June 27, 1937, in Obion County, daughter of the late Ben and Katie (DeWitt) Long. She married Buddy Gene Lewis Oct. 24, 1960. He died March 28, 1997. She had been employed at the former Salant & Salant at Troy, Union City and Obion for 44 years and had also worked as a private sitter after her retirement. She was a member of Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God.
Survivors include her son, Tim Lewis of Troy; two granddaughters, Kristy Lewis of Obion and Dafeny Nicole Ruiz of Troy; two great-granddaughters, Alyssa Lynn Crowell of Obion and Brittney Davis of Troy; two sisters and her brother-in-law, Jimmie Davis of Union City and the Rev. Lee Ellar and James Cleek of Troy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence “Duddle” and Lucille Long of Camberia, Ill., and Buddy and Jo Ann Long of Troy; and 18 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Gill and Shirley Pauline Long; and an infant sister.
