DRESDEN (AP) — A 22-year-old West Tennessee man suffered brain damage and other injuries when he was hit by a car while helping clean up from an ice storm in Oklahoma.
Nathan Tabor’s grandmother, Pamela Johns, told WCMT radio in Martin that her grandson was clearing fallen trees on an interstate when he was struck on Saturday night.
Tabor had made the trip to Oklahoma for the volunteer work with his mother. His grandmother said he has brain damage, a fractured spine and other injuries and is hospitalized in Tulsa, Okla.
The grandmother said neither Tabor nor his mother, Tracy Hoots, have medical insurance.
