Festival name sought

The Fulton Tourism Commission is seeking suggestions for a name for a new weekend festival to replace Weekend at Pontotoc.
The deadline is Saturday, with the winning entry to receive $100 cash.
Suggestions for a festival name may be mailed to the Fulton Tourism Commission, P.O. Box 1516, Fulton, KY 42041.
Participation in the Weekend at Pontotoc festival has dwindled in recent years and the Fulton Tourism Commission hopes a revamping of the festival will create additional interest and community support, according to information posted on the Web site www.fultonkynews.com.
The 2008 festival date has been scheduled for Sept. 18-20, with tentative events to include a kiddie parade, greased pig contest, church bean supper, gospel music concert, food vendors, banana bake-off, bonnet contest, barbecue cook-off, children’s carnival, car show, health fair, 5K run, pet show, grand parade and other music concerts.
