Cornell Young, 76, of Union City died Dec. 25, 2007, at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. A.E. McCadney officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from noon until the hour of services Saturday.
Rawls Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of arrangements.
He was born May 30, 1931, in Lake County, son of the late Luther and Thelma (Chamberlin) Young. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had been a member of St. John No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church in Tiptonville. He was currently a member of Greater Victory Freewill Baptist Church. He had been employed at Dayton Walton Foundry and had worked for Thomas Harmon Roofing and Construction Co. He had also worked with his brother, Beauyett “Bill” Young of Union City at Billy’s Car Wash.
Survivors also include two sons, Cornell Young Jr. of Georgia and Daryl Young of Florida; another brother, Connie Wade “Eugenia” Young of Aurora, Ill.; and two aunts, Hazel Chamberlin of Tiptonville and Izola Moten of Aurora.
