new veterans affairs office opens
A new Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs office is open in Fort Campbell, Ky., to serve veterans and their families who live in Tennessee.
“Serving veterans who are returning home – or helping their family members – is really the primary function of our department and we are honored to serve and support them,” said Commissioner John Keys.
The Field Office will provide advocacy representation on claims to benefit returning Iraq and Afghanistan service members who are transitioning out of service. The office will also assist dependents and survivors of service members who may be entitled to federal benefits.
This office is located at 5661 Screaming Eagle Boulevard in Fort Campbell, and it will be open normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
The Department has 14 additional field offices to serve veterans, located in areas to provide accessibility to all veterans in Tennessee. Office locations are posted on the Web at http://www.tennessee.gov/veteran/help.html.
The Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs is organized to accomplish its mission of serving Tennessee’s veterans and their families with dignity and compassion, and being their principle advocate in ensuring they receive the care, support, earned entitlements, and recognition they earned in service to our nation.
