An attempted armed robbery at a Union City home remains under investigation by police.
Police were summoned about 7:45 p.m. Friday to a residence at 711 North Ury St., where Samuel D. Ferguson told police that he and Pamela Cole Hedgepath were watching television when someone kicked in their front door, according to a Union City Police Department report.
He said when the door was kicked in, there stood two black men who appeared to be in their early 20s wearing ski masks. One of them allegedly pointed what appeared to be a small caliber rifle at him and one of them told the pair to drop what they had and give them their money. Ms. Hedgepath told police she faked a heart attack and then the couple’s pit bull dog came running out and appeared to scare away the two intruders.
Police searched the area but no one was located.
