CHRISTMAS CRAFTS — Each month the Obion County Public Library and the University of Tennessee Obion County 4-H Program team up and provide craft workshops for children in grades K-4. These workshops provide students with vital life skills, such as independence, self-esteem, how to work well with others and the ability to think creatively. December’s workshop celebrated Christmas. Youth learned to make snickerdoodles. They also created little chef gingerbread ornaments. These ornaments will serve as a positive, youthful experience the children will look back on in the years ahead. and the recipe for the snickerdoodles may be used for many years to come. The next workshop is scheduled for Jan. 16. Pre-registration is required and interested parents may do so by contacting Michele Barnes at 885-7000. Participants for the Christmas workshop were (from left) 4-Her Nancy Davis, Ben Clanton, Carol Anne Clanton and Senior High 4-Her Jessica Crackel.
