David James “Swannee” Swanson, 58, of Union City died Dec. 24, 2007, at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating.
Burial will follow at a later date in Roseland Cemetery in Napoleon, Mich.
Friends may call at White-Ranson Funeral Home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Rich Nesbitt, Jeff Wade, Blake Boros, Sam Savery, Blake Williams and Tyler Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gil Kiper, Junior Jones, Sonny Hopgood, Shane Prather and Don Jock.
He was born Oct. 29, 1949, in Jackson, Mich., son of the late Roberta Jeanne (Videto) and Albert Carl Swanson Jr. He was a retired mill operator for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., having been employed there for 37 years.
He was a Baptist and a member of United Steelworkers Local 878 in Union City. He was also an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Thaddeus and Casandra Swanson of Jackson, Mich.; his sister, Amy Swanson of Jackson, Mich.; his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Debbie Swanson of Ackerson Lake, Mich.; three granddaughters, Cierra Nicole Swanson, Chloe Jordan Swanson and Syrie Elayne Swanson, all of Jackson, Mich.; and two nephews and his niece.
