Calvin Lee Perkins wcp 12-20-07 Calvin Lee Perkins, 77, of Dresden, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bowlin Funeral Home, with Bro. Wayne Perkins, Bro. Jim Barnhouse and Bro. Roy Auvenshine officiating. Burial was in Macks Grove Cemetery near Palmersville. Steve Baker, Larry Moubray, Donald Perkins, Ronald Perkins, Gene Perkins and Wayne Washburn served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were T. J. Ferrell, Leonard Hardin, Eulaine Moubray, Tom Spence, Gerald Taylor and Ken Vaughn. Perkins was born in Dresden, son of the late John Wesley and Nora Josephine Peery Perkins. He was a retired plant manager for Miller Country Ham and a member and deacon at Macks Grove Baptist Church near Palmersville. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jeannette McGhee Perkins of Dresden; two daughters, Chip (Gene) DeFeo of Searsport, Maine, and Gail (Ed) Barton of Birmingham, Ala.; one son, Phil (Melanie) Perkins of Gadsden; two sisters, Virginia (Bill) Verdell of Gleason and Lucille Prince of Sharon; two brothers, Wayne (Linda) Perkins of Greenfield and James (Melba) Perkins of Paris; and three grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two infant sons; a brother, Wesley Perkins and two sisters, Bonnie Crocker and Mary Jane Perkins. None |
