Mary Jean Petty
Mary Jean Petty, 68, of Dresden, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at Williams Funeral Home, with Donald Doster officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden.
Tim Evans, Terry Evans, William Evans, Andrew Evans, Robbie Carrington, Ronald Morrow, Ray McAnally and Ronald McAnally served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Justin Elinor.
Mrs. Petty was born March 15, 1939, in South Fulton, daughter of the late Lenorad and Janie Bates Carrington. She was a homemaker and the widow of James Petty.
Survivors include four daughters, Nancy (Chris) Elinor of Sharon, Dorothy Chambers of Farrington, Ky., Lisa (David Huston) Pegram of Palmersville, and Judy (Duane) Boone of Gleason; two sons, Billy “Pete” (Wanda) Weaver and Lonnie Jarred, both of Dresden; four sisters, Virginia Fowler and June Evans, both of Dresden, Shirley Evans of Sharon and Robbie Carrington of Gleason; one brother, James Carrington of Clarksville; 13 grandchildren, Tonya Humfress, Tabatha Humfress, Trina Humfress, Bridgie Carlton, Jason Carlton, Kathy Weaver, Trisha Weaver, Janet Williford, Lonnie Jarred, Daniel Jarred, Jake Jarred, Tammy (Aaron) Pegram and Justin Elinor.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Paulette McAnally and Bertha Carrington; one brother, Halford Carrington; and one grandson, Carl Weaver.
