Helen Louise Montgomery
Helen Louise Montgomery, 86, of Dresden, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at her residence.
Services were held 11 a.m. Friday at Bowlin Funeral Home, with Bro. Brian Crow officiating. Burial was in Palmersville Cemetery.
Grandsons, Alan Austin, Tim Austin, Chris Austin, Brent Montgomery, Mitch Montgomery and John Eric Montgomery, Terry Freeman and Jeff Griggs served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Montgomery was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Red Jacket, W.Va., daughter of the late Lewis Richard and Margaret Springer Hendricks. She was a homemaker, farmer, a member of the Weakley County Church of Christ in Dresden and the widow of Robert Lewis Montgomery.
Survivors include one daughter, Jo Nell (Glenn) Austin of Paonia, Colo.; five sons, Robert (Sherry) Montgomery and George (Linda) Montgomery, both of Palmersville, James (Barbara) Montgomery of Savannah, Gary (Linda) Montgomery of Paris and Dennis Montgomery of Dresden; two sisters, Janice Whitt of Barboursville, W.Va. and Betty Akers of Red Jacket, W.Va.; one brother, Lewis Hendricks of Dayton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Sgt. Kent Montgomery, and one sister, Elsie Smith.
