Jason Ams of Lexington, Ky., son of Trent Ams and Jana Ams, both of Union City, was recently named to the Order of the Coif at the University of Kentucky.
The Order of the Coif recognizes the top 5 percent of the class.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in political science, graduating summa cum laude, from Murray (Ky.) State University in 2004. He was awarded his juris doctor degree, graduating magna cum laude, from the University of Kentucky in May 2007.
Ams recently passed the bar exam and was admitted to practice law in Kentucky. He is employed with Greenebaum Doll & McDonald, PLLC, practicing as an associate in the firm’s Lexington office and working as a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group.
He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Kentucky Law Journal.
Ams, a graduate of Union City High School, is the grandson of Gordon and Barbara Cross and Richard Ams and the late Mary Ruth Ams.

Haley Vaden, daughter of Jeff and Kaye Vaden of Union City, was recently awarded a full scholarship from Arnold’s Beauty School in Milan.
She will be graduating from Arnold’s this month.
Miss Vaden is a 2007 graduate of Obion County Central High School.

Marcie Marie Daniel of Union City, a senior majoring in biology at Middle Tennessee State University, was recently inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society in the country.
Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is a charter member of the Association of College Honor Societies. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.
Invitation to membership is based on demonstrating academic achievement and exemplary character.
Those eligible to be members include juniors in the top 5 percent of their class and seniors in the top 10 percent of their class.
Miss Daniel, a Union City High School graduate, was also recently named to the Dean’s List at MTSU for the fall semester and will graduate in May 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in biology.
