UTMartin frat house vandalized
A University of Tennessee at Martin campus fraternity house was the victim of an apparent burglary and vandalism over the weekend.
The Martin Police Department is investigating an incident that reportedly occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
According to an MPD incident report, officers were called to the Kappa Alpha fraternity house on Lee Street Sunday after a member of the fraternity contacted them when he found damage throughout the house and noticed some items were missing.
The report cites entry was gained into the fraternity house by pushing out a window on the south end of the house at the back deck.
Photo composites were reportedly ripped off of walls and a door to a bedroom had been damaged from apparently being kicked.
The vandal(s) also spray painted a wall with the words “ATO B****es” in gold paint, according to the report.
There were several items listed in the incident report that were missing from the fraternity house including an American flag as well as a KA fraternity flag; an “All Sports Trophy” and the chapter’s original framed charter.
Five miscellaneous trophies were also missing from the fraternity house. The value of the stolen items is estimated at $670.
The incident is still under investigation by the MPD.
