EIGHTH-GRADE WINNERS — Gift certificates for Snappy Tomato Pizza and McDonald’s in Union City, as well as Wal-Mart gift cards, were given as prizes for winning the recent Obion County 4-H Public Speaking Contest held at Ridgemont Elementary School. In the eighth-grade division, first place was won by Chelsea Southerland (from left) of Black Oak Elementary. She is the daughter of Gary and Danah Southerland of Obion. Second place went to Summer London of Hillcrest Elementary. She is the daughter of Mark and Donna London of Troy. Third place was awarded to Kristin Storey of Lake Road Elementary. She is the daughter of Jimmy and Geneva Storey of Union City.
