Harold Glenn Gammons Sr., 78, of Union City died Dec. 15, 2007, at his home.
Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Vann Kissell officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery near Union City.
Friends may call this evening at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Kalberer, Cass Gammons, Caleb Norman, Lee McClure, Terry Howard and Wesley McClure. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday school class at Troy First Baptist Church and George Gregory, Bobby Hooper and Pete Whetherly.
He was born May 23, 1929, in Union City, son of the late Fred Lee and Ida (Ladd) Gammons. He married the former Fannie Sue Smith April 28, 1951. She survives.
He was a retired employee of LTV Steel Mill in East Chicago, Ind., where he had worked for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Troy First Baptist Church.
Survivors also include his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Phil Sims of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Maria Gammons of Orange Park, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jamie Kalberer and Heather Norman, both of Nashville, Cass Gammons of Jacksonville, Fla., Cary Gammons of Waldorf, Md., and Dorian Gammons of Berlington, Wis.; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marie Glover of Union City and Virginia Dare Hayes of Samburg.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Kalberer; his brother, Elwood Gammons; and three sisters, Artie Bell Vaught, Estelle Wheeler and Irene Spence.
