Emily Alicia Elling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Elling of Sharon, participated in the annual nurses’ capping ceremony held Nov. 24 at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Fla.
Many parents, friends and professional staff from the various clinical institutions where the nursing students will receive their clinical experience were in attendance. The capping ceremony marks the beginning of their professional experience. The program included an address by Dr. Lloyd Streeter, co-pastor of Campus Church, and he administered the Florence Nightingale Pledge to uphold the ideals of the nursing profession.
Pensacola Christian College is a liberal arts college enrolling students from every state in the United States and from around the world. It has an enrollment of approximately 4400 full-time students in its undergraduate program and offers a variety of study programs.
Elling is a 2005 graduate of Unity Christian School in Martin.
