Dr. and Mrs. Tom Payne of Martin are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Rachel Lynne Payne to Cerone Franklin “Cy” Sturdivant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Sturdivant of Sharon. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Langston of Conway, Ark., Dorothy Payne of Little Rock, Ark., and Thomas Payne of Weaver, Ala. She graduated with honors from Westview High School in 2004 and will graduate summa cum laude on Dec. 15 from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a double major in accounting and finance. While attending UT Martin she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and was employed by First Citizens National Bank. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dayne Hawks of Sharon and Juanita Webb of Trimble. He graduated with honors from Westview High School in 2001 and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin where he graduated magna cum laude in 2005 with a double major in accounting and finance. He is employed as an auditor at First State Bank in Union City. The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m., Dec. 22, at First Baptist Church in Martin, with the Rev. Michael Murray officiating. Music will begin at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. All friends and family are invited to attend. None
