Charles Harold Jones Sr. The Messenger. 12.10.07 Charles Harold Jones Sr., 82, of District No. 7 died Dec. 7, 2007, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services were set for 2 p.m. today at Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church in District No. 7, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Waymon Chappell was to officiate, assisted by Kenneth Adams and Richard Campbell. Pallbearers were to be Jake Bennett, Randall Screen, Luke Screen, Joshua Screen, Alvin Webster, Charlie Priest, Larry Priest, Bradley Bone and Travis Bone. Honorary pallbearers were to be the elders of Primitive Baptist Church. He was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Obion County, son of the late James Earl and Asenith (Littrell) Jones. He married the former June Eddlemon Oct. 12, 1951. She died June 28, 1981. He then married the former Rebecca Ann (Wisniewski) Bone July 25, 1986. She survives. He had been employed in the shipping department of Caterpillar Heavy Equipment Co. in Joliet, Ill., for many years and was a World War II U.S. Army Aircorps veteran, who also served in the infantry. He was a member of Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors also include two daughters, Lora Ann Bennett and Pamela Fay Screen, both of Rives; his son, Charles H. Jones Jr. of Rives; three stepchildren, Valerie Reed, Travis Bone and Bradley Bone, all of Union City; two sisters, Lurline Noel of St. Clair, Mich., and Virgie Crutchfield of Memphis; two brothers, Preston Jones of Greenville, Miss., and Bobby Jones of Maywood, Ill.; five grandchildren, Jake Bennett of Wilmington, Ill., Randall Screen of Cayce, Ky., Joshua Screen and Luke Screen, both of Union City, and Rebecca Jones of Macomb, Ill.; and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mayme Hill and Leota Brann; and five brothers, Wade Jones, Joe Jones, Gilbert Jones, James Earl Jones and Max Lee Jones.
