‘Anchor’ news told The Messenger. 12.06.07 Anchor House is a halfway house for those who have completed drug and/or alcohol rehab and are in need of a home and the support of those who are familiar with the challenges they face. Friends of Anchor House will have a business meeting 6 p.m. Monday at 426 East Church St. in Union City. All who are interested are invited to attend, a spokesman said, adding that new board members are being eagerly sought to help carry out the mission of the late Randy Eakin, founder of Anchor House. Anchor House is planning an auction Saturday at 6 p.m. at Joe’s Steak House, formerly The Italian Vineyard Restaurant on the Old Fulton Highway. Meals are $10 and tickets include food, beverage and a homemade dessert. Steve Goodrich will be auctioneer for many items, including furniture, large mirrors, framed prints, comforters, biker leathers and signs and more. Paul Pryor will provide entertainment.
