John Ervin Jr. John Thomas Ervin Jr., 58, of Obion died Nov. 28, 2007, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with the Rev. Terry Bolden officiating. Burial is to follow at Beech Grove Cemetery near Obion. Friends may call from noon until the funeral hour on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Larry Foggie, Steve Sherfield, Ken Brown, Rod Williams, Richard Vell and A.B. Smith. He was born June 26, 1949, in Obion, son of the late John Thomas and Amy Marie (Brown) Ervin. He worked at the former Salant and Salant in the shipping department. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Obion. He is survived by his son, Marlon Bufford of Nashville; his daughter, Veronica Nance of Nashville; two brothers, Jeffery Ervin and William Burl Ervin, both of Union City; his sister, Darlene Ervin of Obion; and three grandchildren, Alexander Nance, Marla Bufford and Jessica Bufford, all of Nashville.
