Miss Walker, Nance to wed

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Jane Alison Walker of Dyersburg and Joshua Taft Nance of Union City is being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve and Gena Walker of Dyersburg. Her grandparents are Wava Jones and the late Ray Jones Jr. of Finley and Wendell and Joy Walker of Dyersburg.
She is a 2000 graduate of Dyersburg City High School and earned an associate’s degree in medical orientation from Dyersburg State Community College in 2002.
She graduated in 2005 from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor’s degree in university studies for chemistry and biology and in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing — family nurse practitioner. She plans to receive a master’s degree in nursing from Union University in Jackson in December.
She is a member of Pi Tau Chapter of the Nursing Honors Society Sigma Theta Tau and is employed at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital as a registered nurse. She plans to work in the Union City area as a family nurse practitioner.
The groom-elect is the son of Greg and Brenda Nance of Union City. His grandparents are Juanita Hopkins and the late Harold Hopkins of Union City and Ralph and Rose Nance of South Fulton.
He is a 2001 graduate of Union City High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2004 and a master’s degree in administration and supervision in 2006 from UTM. He has six hours toward his doctorate degree and is employed at Ridgemont Elementary School as a fourth-grade teacher.
The couple will wed at 6 p.m. Dec. 22 at First United Pentecostal Church in Finley. Music will begin at 5:30.
A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony at Finley Community Center.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
