West TN Healthcare welcomes lab director West Tennessee Healthcare’s Medical Center Laboratory announces the addition of Edward Hughes, BS, MA, DLM as its new Director.
“I look forward to Ed coming to West Tennessee Healthcare and bringing with him a strong understanding of both the inpatient and outreach aspects of laboratory operations,” said Vice President Tina Prescott.
Hughes brings more than 20 years experience and is a board-certified Diplomat of Laboratory Management. He comes to West Tennessee from Collinsville, Ill., where he served as Executive Director of Tri-Lab, a multi-hospital laboratory system. Hughes has served in various laboratory key leadership positions in San Diego, California and Dallas, Texas.
Medical Center Laboratory is the largest reference lab in the state of Tennessee. More than 340 employees serve not only West Tennessee Healthcare hospitals and businesses but also numerous area nursing homes, clinics, and non-owned hospitals.
Medical Center Laboratory is highly sophisticated and one of the most automated medical labs in the United States.
