student inducted into Gamma Beta Phi
Robert G. Hames of Gleason was inducted into Gamma Beta Phi, an honor and service organization, on Sunday, Nov. 4, at Bethel College in McKenzie.
Gamma Beta Phi has chapters at colleges and universities across the United States. It is non-secret, non-profit and co-educational. The watchwords of the society — scholarship, character, and service — denote the three major objectives of Gamma Beta Phi. These objectives include recognizing and encouraging individual excellence in education; promoting the development of leadership ability and character in its members; and fostering, disseminating and improving education through appropriate service.
To be invited into Gamma Beta Phi, students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and 12 credit hours completed.
Bethel College is a four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
