Ruth Ward Kelley, 90, of Dresden, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Services were held 3 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden, with Elder Charles DeMoss officiating. Burial was in Matheny Grove Cemetery near Dresden.
Paul Kelley, David Brann, Charles Ward, Paul Ward, Ernie Ward and Johnny Ward served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Dresden, daughter of the late Clarence and Lena Peery Ward. She was a housewife, retired from Kellwood Co. and a member of Matheny Grove Primitive Baptist Church near Dresden. She was the widow of John Louis “Dock” Kelly.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Gatewood of Dresden; one son Ted Lee (Brenda) Kelley of Dresden; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Fred Gatewood; three sisters, Luna Bowlin, Irene Henderson and Mary Brann; and three brothers, Dudley Ward, James Ward and Gordon Ward.
