Bridal parties held for Miss Castleman

Several parties were held prior to the recent marriage of Kellie Castleman of Union City and Brandon Brown of Troy.
The bride is the daughter of Kent and Regina Hendon and John and Tammy Castleman, all of Union City.
The groom is the son of Keith and Mary Nell Simpson and Michael and Jessica Pitts, all of Troy.

LINGERIE SHOWER
Kimberly Wilkinson of Bells, sister of the bride, hosted a lingerie shower.
The guests enjoyed reminiscing while watching the honoree open her gifts. Rotel, with chips, assorted fruits with dip, a cheese ball and crackers, brownies and soft drinks were served.
Attending were the honoree’s bridesmaids and long-time friends. Special guests were the mothers of the bridal couple; Brandy Brown, cousin of the groom, of Troy; the bride’s grandmother, Ruby Neil of Sharon; and Beverly Haygood of Union City.

HOUSEHOLD SHOWER
A household shower was held for the couple in the home of the groom’s aunt and uncle, Ronnie and Tammy Brown of Troy. Co-hosting the occasion were Paulette Allbright, aunt of the groom, of Kenton; and his cousins, Brandy Brown of Troy and Heather Allbright of Paducah, Ky.
The guests enjoyed a delicious array of finger foods, dips, brownies, cake, soft drinks and punch.
Special guests were the mothers of the bridal couple and the groom’s grandmother, Sandra Pitts of Troy.
The honoree was attired in a black polka-dotted spaghetti-stringed top and black capris. She chose black sandals and black accessories to complete her outfit.
Games were played, with the prizes being awarded to the bride. A special moment was shared when the groom’s mother read a poem that she had written about her son for Miss Castleman.
The hostesses presented the couple with a microwave oven as a wedding gift.

GIFT TEA
A gift tea was held for the couple at Second Baptist Church in Union City.
Hostesses were the ladies from the “Tuesday night Bible study group” and the Young Married Couples Class.
Miss Castleman chose a pair of tan pants and a blue and tan striped blouse with a white camisole. She was presented a corsage of fall flowers, made by Beverly Haygood.
The registry table was draped with a cream-colored lace cloth and held an arrangement of fall-colored flowers in a red mosaic cut-glass vase, the bride’s guest book and silver double-heart pen set. Floor-length, white eyelet tablecloths draped the food and gift tables and both were decorated with flower arrangements of fall colors. Assorted cookies, brownies and soft drinks were served to the guests.

HOUSEHOLD SHOWER
The country home Roger and Janie Alexander of Union City was the setting for a household shower. Co-hosting the shower were Yvonne Elam, Phoeba Ross and Angela Willingham, all of Union City. Miss Castleman chose a black sundress with a blue camisole and black accessories.
Games were played with the prizes being given to the bride.
The guests enjoyed a delicious assortment of finger sandwiches, taco dip, vegetables and dip, mini cheesecakes, brownies, strawberries and banana punch.
The hostesses presented the bride with a set of monogrammed towels as a gift.
