Completed arrangements are being announced for Virginia Cathey, 89, of South Fulton, who died 10:30 p.m. Oct. 24, 2007, at Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with Steve Cochrum and Cecil May III officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-9 p.m. Saturday and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until the hour of services.
The family requests that memorials be made to American Heart Association, 240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.
She was born May 26, 1918, in South Fulton, daughter of the late Chalmus Milton and Ruth Jenne Valentine. She was the widow of Horace Cathey, who died Dec. 15, 1979, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Parkway Church of Christ in Fulton and had lived in this area all her life.
Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Watkins of Dukedom, Donna Grissom of South Fulton and Linda Roberts of Fulton; her son, Gary Cathey of San Antonio; her sister, Dorothy Erranton of Fulton; and 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles “Herb” Cathey, who died June 16, 2002, and by her grandchild, five sisters and her brother.
