U of M recruitment reception set for Tuesday in Union City

The University of Memphis will host a recruitment reception for prospective students Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Obion County Public Library, located at 1221 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City.
The event is open to high school juniors and seniors, transfer students and their guests. There is no charge to attend.
Visitors will have the opportunity learn about admissions, academic programs, student organizations, residence life, scholarships, financial aid and the U of M Honors Program.
Among this year’s freshman class at the U of M is Jasmin Stevenson of Martin, a graduate of Obion County High School and recipient of the Emerging Leader Scholarship.
Also enrolled at the university is Provost Scholarship recipient and Honors Program participant Jarron Michael Ams, a graduate of Union City High School.
Founded in 1912, the University of Memphis today is a metropolitan research university. With 200 buildings on four sites covering 1,160 acres, it has a student population of almost 20,400 and a faculty and staff numbering about 2,500.
