Martha Cole, 80, of Union City, a former resident of Hickman, Ky., died 4:32 a.m. Oct. 21, 2007, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, with the Revs. Henry Callison and Ben Stratton officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 this evening and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Cole, Karen Cole, Fred Murphy, Scott Shell, James Hutchison and Levis Scarbrough.
She was born Sept. 11, 1927, in Bedford Heights, Ohio, daughter of the late Albert and Catherine Nichols. She was the widow of Wilbert Cole and was a member of East Hickman Baptist Church. She had also been a member of Meadville, Pa., First Baptist Church and the Meadville Rescue Squad Auxiliary. She had been employed at JCPenney for 20 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Brenda Cole of Hickman; her brother-in-law, Bill Cole of Cambridge Springs, Pa.; two granddaughters, Shannon Hutchison of South Fulton and Keri Cole of Hickman; and three great-grandchildren, Macayla Cole of Hickman and Brandon Hutchison and Cameron Cole.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Carl Nichols; and two sisters, Charlotte Nichols and Edna Brawley.
