There will be a benefit for Judy Hassell, who recently underwent major surgery and has not been able to work for some time. Medical expenses have placed a burden on her that friends are working to lift.
There will be a barbecue sale beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at Yorkville City Park. Barbecue may be purchased by the pound or shoulder. Barbecued bologna will also be available. To preorder, call (731) 643-6365, (731) 487-1709 or (731) 414-0136 by Thursday. Meat may be purchased on the day of the sale as well, but only those who preorder will be guaranteed their share of the barbecue, a spokesman said.
Beginning at 4:30 p.m., there will be a barbecue, hamburger and hot dog supper, followed by a talent show at 6:30.
Barbecue plates will sell for $8 and barbecue sandwiches with chips, hamburgers with chips and hot dogs with chips will be $6 each. Beverages and desserts and admission to the talent show are included in these prices.
Tickets for the talent show only are $5.
The talent show will include Billy Collins from Obion County, Britney Hodge, Maddie Welch, Kim Scott, David Brewer, Rodney White, Harry Jetton, Carol Galloway, Renee Walker, Chris Sims, Kenny “Shiggy” Higdon, Jack Gregory, the Bethel Boys and Brian Mabry.
