No. 18 hole is site of two recent aces
The No. 18 hole at Persimmon Hills Golf Course in Sharon has twice in recent weeks been mastered on one stroke by local golfers.
Martin resident Bob Carroll stroked a hole-in-one on Oct. 4. Carroll used a pitching wedge on the Par 3, 95-yard hole.
His shot was witnessed by Dessel Wright, Ben Hogan and Mac Pritchett.
For Carroll, knocking aces is old hat. The hole-in-one was the fourth of his golfing career.
On Oct. 13, Lynn Dale Lackey of Sharon matched Carroll’s feat by ripping an ace on No. 18.
Lackey also used a pitching wedge to notch the perfect shot.
Lackey’s hole-in-one was witnessed by Mark Prince, Sandy Truitt, Gary Eddings and Ray Elliott.
