Freda M. Piatt, 84, of Bradenton, Fla., a former resident of Union City and the mother of Mike Piatt of Union City, died Oct. 14, 2007, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton.
Services will be noon Friday at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ill., with burial following in Richland Cemetery there. Steve Ackman will officiate.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.
She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Fairfield, daughter of the late Fred and Julia (Kingston) Bruce. She married Glen Piatt May 15, 1942, in St. Louis, He survives.
She had been employed at Montgomery-Ward in Fairfield for many years and had also been a florist.
She was a member of Community Church of God in Bradenton.
Survivors also include her daughter, Julie “Punky” McCallie of Knoxville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patsy and Donald Gibbs of Independence, Mo., Mary and Verne Vaughn of Fairfield and Roxie Hendrix of Lampasas, Texas; four grandchildren, Chad Piatt and Courtney (Piatt) Blackwell, both of Union City, Clint Piatt of Rossville, Ga., and Spencer McCallie of Colorado; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her sister.
