Best-selling author Jim Trelease will address parents, teachers and the general public about the importance of reading aloud to children as a way to instill a love for literature during a visit tonight to Union University in Jackson.
Trelease is the author of the New York Times best-seller “The Read Aloud Handbook.” His lecture address is entitled “Reading aloud: Motivating children to make books into friends, not enemies.”
He spent 20 years as a writer for a daily newspaper in New England and now speaks around the country to various schools and educational groups. A book-signing will follow Trelease’s address at Union.
