Mary Prather, University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Accounting, Economics, Finance and International Business program resource assistant, received the non-exempt UT Martin Fall 2007 Outstanding Employee Award recently presented by Chancellor Tom Rakes. The award, which recognizes outstanding service to the university, is presented each fall and spring semester to two employees. Included as part of Prather’s nomination were comments such as, “Mary embodies the spirit of the ‘campus that cares’ attitude. Her personal and professional traits are instrumental in helping the department and the university achieve its mission. She cares about and takes a personal interest in our students and serves as an ambassador of the College of Business and Public Affairs in numerous ways. Mary is friendly and professional and supportive of our faculty, going the extra mile to assist in day-to-day activities as well as special projects. She is the first point of contact for the department and represents us well. She has assumed increasing responsibilities with the two Chairs of Excellence, the Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center and the Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives.”
