Royal Stanley Lyon, 67, of Lillington, N.C., a former resident of Obion, died Oct. 5, 2007, at a hospital in North Carolina.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at O’Quinn & Peebles Funeral Home in Lillington. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Veterans Cemetery in Creina Lake, N.C.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.
He was born May 7, 1940, in Obion County, son of the late Fred and Nellie (James) Lyon. He married the former Ruby Clack Feb. 22, 1988. She survives. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who had retired with the rank of first class petty officer. He was also a truck driver.
Survivors also include two sons, Roy Lyon of Clayton, N.C., and Bob Lyon of Four Oaks, N.C.; three stepsons, Michael Smith of Wilson Mills, N.C., Marty Smith of Fugly-Fulling, N.C., and Samuel Smith of Dunn, N.C.; his sister, Janette (Lyon) Criswell of Troy; and eight grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Guy Lyon; and his daughter, Annette Denise Lyon.
