Leadership W.C. plans for 2008 class
Leadership Weakley County completed its 17th year of classes in May with graduates honored at the President’s Banquet. The Board of Directors is making plans for the Class of 2008.
Leadership Weakley County is a countywide leadership development program designed to provide training for local citizens who have a sincere interest in the future of the county.
The program gives the participants an educational experience to stimulate ideas necessary to enhance our economic climate, raise our quality of life, create enthusiasm among our citizens and find ways to meet challenges.
The course consists of eight sessions in which local, regional and state authorities share their knowledge and expertise. Class participates will attend workshops, field trips, and presentations geared toward creating a better understanding of our county.
Anyone can apply to participate in the program. Nominations are accepted but not required. Selection of the class members is competitive and a limited number of participates will be selected by the Board of Directors.
They will be seeking those who demonstrate an enthusiasm for contributing to the improvement of Weakley County and exhibit leadership potential. A commitment to fall participation and attendance is also required.
The Leadership Weakley County Board of Directors is now taking applications for the 2008 Leadership Weakley County Class.
Tuition for the program is $250, which covers the cost of administration, meals and printed materials associated with the sessions and events.
Anyone interested in this program may obtain more information by contacting the Weakley County Chamber of Commerce at 364-3787. Deadline for application is Nov. 1.
