Relma Beatrice Woods, 93, of Chicago, formerly of South Fulton, died 2:19 a.m. Sept. 29, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, Ill.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul AME Church in South Fulton, with the Revs. Perry Herman, Cecil Maddox Jr. and George Turks officiating. Burial will follow in Fulton’s Greenlea Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Obion County, daughter of the late Sammie (Thompson) and Herbert “Hub” Johnson Sr. She was the widow of Archie Woods and was a retired seamstress. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church and had lived in South Fulton most of her life before moving to Chicago.
Survivors include her stepson, James Woods of Memphis; two brothers, Herbert Johnson Jr. of South Fulton and Earl Johnson of Union City; three sisters and her brother-in-law, Pearlie Mae Partee of Chicago, Bertha Mitchell of Carbondale, Ill., and Marie and James Warford of Union City; and 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Johnson and A.D. Johnson.
