BACK TO SCHOOL CRAFTS — Each month the Obion County Public Library and the University of Tennessee Obion County 4-H program team up and provide craft workshops for children grades K-4. These workshops provide students with vital life skills such as independence, self-esteem, how to work well with others and the ability to think creatively. September’s workshop celebrated “Back to School.” Youth created key fobs to hook to backpacks so they always have their keys available. Participants also covered composition notebooks to make writing more fun. These items will last for years. The memories of creating them will last forever. The next workshop is scheduled for mid-October. Pre-registration is required and interested parents may do so by contacting children’s librarian Michele Barnes at 885-7000. Participants of the Back To School workshop included (first row, from left) Alivia Morris, Carol Anne Clanton, Zoe Zalsman and Ben Clanton (second) 4-H volunteer Nancy Davis, Lauren Kendall and Anna Clanton.
