An Obion County man was charged with multiple drug-related offenses following a traffic stop early today on West Reelfoot Avenue in Union City.
Jason R. Coleman, 32, of 1127 West Shawtown Road, Union City, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. today on charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (hydrocodone), possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana), according to a Union City Police Department report.
Around 1:10 a.m., a police officer reported he observed Jones’ vehicle traveling westbound on West Reelfoot Avenue without a license plate. The vehicle was stopped in the 1400 block and the driver was identified as Coleman, who was issued a citation for a registration law violation.
After receiving consent to search the vehicle, police found a small bag of a substance believed to be the illegal drug meth/ice, six hydrocodone pills and a small bag of a substance believed to be marijuana, according to the report.
