Anchor House is a halfway house for those who have completed drug and/or alcohol rehab and are in need of a home and the support of those who are familiar with the challenges they face. Friends of Anchor House will have a business meeting 6 p.m. Monday at 426 East Church St. in Union City.
All who are interested are invited to attend, a spokesman said, adding that new board members are being eagerly sought to help carry out the mission of the late Randy Eakin, founder of Anchor House. The board also needs donations to cover the cost of dirt for a road bed, diesel fuel, stamps for the organization’s news letter, repairs and fuel, plus the donation of meat and the loan of a backhoe. The board also needs to trade their Ford 1215 tractor for a larger model.
Donations may be mailed to 1809 Wade Wiley Road, Union City, TN 38261.
